LifeCare Residences celebrates a decade of Battersea Place and The Albert Suites, marked by resident celebrations and speeches from local dignitaries

July marks a decade of Battersea Place, London’s first luxury retirement community in the heart of the city. Designed for individuals aged 65+, Battersea Place combines privacy, security, and service with the comfort of your own home. Plus, for those needing extra support, The Albert Suites, London’s luxury care home, offer exceptional care suites for long-term support or rest and recovery.
Marking the 10-year milestone, Battersea Place held a birthday celebration for residents, with commemorative speeches, close-up magic entertainment and a summer BBQ cooked by the Battersea Place kitchen team.
Over 90 residents joined the celebrations, along with Marsha de Cordova, Battersea MP and Madam Deputy Mayor of Wandsworth Council, Cllr Kirsten Botting, in attendance to mark the 10-year anniversary of this local asset for Battersea.
The party enjoyed speeches from Liam Stack (General Manager), Gary Heather (Executive Director), Jennifer (Chair of the Residents Committee), and the two local dignitaries, which focused on the uniqueness and vibrancy of the Battersea Place community.

Marking 10 years of Battersea Place and The Albert Suites, LifeCare Residences Managing Director, Daniel Cook, comments:
“As we proudly celebrate 10 years of Battersea Place and The Albert Suites, we’re also reflecting on more than 30 years of experience in the care sector that have shaped who we are today.
“Being family-run has always been at the heart of our approach. It means putting people first, building genuine relationships and creating communities where residents feel valued, respected and truly at home. Our commitment has remained the same: providing exceptional care, support and companionship while treating every resident as an individual. That personal touch, guided by our family values, continues to define everything we do.
“Thank you to our residents, families, colleagues and partners who have been part of our journey.”
Reflecting on the 10-year anniversary and why Battersea is the perfect location for LifeCare Residences, Gary Heather, Executive Director, comments:
“Battersea was a natural choice for LifeCare because it offered a rare combination of prestige, connectivity, culture, and community. We saw an opportunity to create a retirement village in one of London’s most desirable neighbourhoods, enabling people to continue enjoying an active, engaged urban lifestyle while benefiting from the security, support, and community that retirement living provides.
“Our vision was to redefine expectations of later-life living by creating a vibrant community where residents could maintain their independence while having access to exceptional services and care if and when needed. Ten years on, I believe that vision has not only been fulfilled but exceeded. Battersea Place has become a thriving community where residents continue to lead rich, fulfilling lives, proving that retirement living can be aspirational, empowering, and deeply rewarding.”
Resident Jane Bellord says choosing Battersea Place has been “the best decision I have made”:
“I came to Battersea Place attracted to it being a retirement village, but with independent living, having care available as needed at a later stage. I felt it took away any pressure my family might have and stopped them from worrying about me. I was able to come with my dog, and with Battersea Park just over the road, it has been easy for me to go for walks with her. For me, it has beenthe best decision I have made, I am with a group of residents who are happy to join in on the varied entertainment on offer.”
