Activities and Wellness

Social wellbeing is an integral part of our nursing care programme. From the moment a resident arrives, we take time to find out about what interests them and the things they like to do; we offer a wide range of activities to suit all interests and levels of mobility.

Our diverse range of activities are carefully curated to encourage mobility, independence, and social engagement. We work in partnership with the National Association for Providers of Activities for Older People (NAPA) to offer pursuits that enhance lifestyle, health and general wellbeing.

Our Activities Coordinator provides a varied programme of classes from music and movement, arts and crafts, to themed days, quizzes and reminiscence therapy and ‘pets as therapy’ sessions. We welcome friends and family to join in and share the fun. Residents may also enjoy sitting in our gardens, or trips into Dorchester or to the nearby Borough Gardens.

More than just outstanding tailored nursing care, our reflexologist, masseur, chef and hairdresser will take care of what they do best – allowing you to get back to taking care of yourself. We also welcome holiday stays that cater for a variety of situations; including if your main carer is away, you are suffering from a bereavement or simply if you feel you would benefit from a break or additional recovery time.

Our chef takes pride in creating dishes that are high in nutritional value. This involves the creation of tailored – and diverse – menus that accommodate special dietary needs, as well as individual favourites (which may trigger fond memories of childhood days or special occasions spent with their loved ones).
